Mr. Peter Bannon - Member

Mr. Bannon has over 30 years of public service experience in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Newfoundland. He began his career as an Environmental Engineering Technician and held senior management positions in the Government of the Northwest Territories and federal regional operations for fifteen years, retiring in 2007. He currently works as a part-time consultant.

Mr. Bannon has been involved with the Mackenzie Valley of the Northwest Territories for many years as a member of the Working Group and Working Committees for the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board and the Regional Land and Water Boards under the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act (MVRMA). He also served on the Gwich’in/Sahtu Legislation Co-ordinating Group, responsible for the development of the MVRMA.

Mr. Bannon is a graduate of both the University of Waterloo, where he received his Bachelor in Environmental Studies and Geography and Resource Management, and Fanshaw College in London Ontario, where he received diplomas in Environmental Engineering Technology and Water and Air Pollution Control.
